Our Hampshire Staunton chess set is in a class of its own. The knight's are extraordinarily elegant combining simplistic beauty with fine detail found only on the very finest chess sets. The king, queen, and bishop have beautiful profiles with a traditional straight base. The rooks are oversize with perfectly cut crenels and even the pawns merit special mention with their oversize collars and head. The ultimate in traditional Staunton design exceeding all others!

This club size chess set with a 4.4” king is one of our two signature sets in the Staunton by Design collection. You will recognize it in the logo. The knights are carved by the most skilled carvers in the world, in fact, the same craftsmen that carve the famous Jaques of London chess sets. Only ten of these sets will be available for sale in 2008.

The Hampshire includes our Deluxe Chess Coffer lined inside with real billiard cloth. This two tray coffer is very large and designed specifically for our club size chess sets. When you open the lid you will find a beautiful polished gold, laser engraved plaque with our Staunton by Design logo. We include a Certificate of Authenticity printed on fine parchment paper that has your name, chess set name, type of woods, size, serial number, and date of purchase. The Hampshire is truly a masterpiece in wood and belongs in all great chess set collections!
