The year was 1923. A young woman had the drive, ingenuity, and creativity to break boundaries and not only join the world of business, but to create her own empire. That woman was Madame Beatrice Alexander, and now 90 years later, the Madame Alexander Doll Company Celebrates by honoring this energetic woman by designing a doll reflecting the beauty and courage of “The Madame” at the very beginning. Madame Alexander – 1923 is a 21” Cissy doll with brunette hair with a side part and lovely finger waves pulled back into a low bun with sparkling blue eyes, and exquisitely accurate makeup. A navy blue grosgrain headband adorned with a rhinestone encrusted flower reflects the art-deco fashion of the day. Her dress is a 1920’s drop waist taffeta lined navy blue georgette. Her shapely waist is accented with a navy taffeta sash, and her flared skirt is embroidered with pearls and bugle beads. Nude stockings, white tap pants, and black vintage shoes enhance her period look. Around her shoulders she wears a faux mink stole adorned with a rhinestone encrusted flower pin similar to the one on her headband. Pewter dangle earrings with blue and black “gems “ adorn her ears. Dressed as Madame Alexander, Cissy is the epitome of grace, style, and success; and because she is “the Madame” world renowned doll maker, fashion designer, and entrepreneur supreme, she brings along two very sweet little cloth dolls similar to her original cloth creations. Madame Alexander – 1923 is a beautiful doll honoring a woman of character, someone for all women to appreciate and look to for inspiration! From Madame Alexander’s 90th Anniversary, History of Fashion, Couture & Fashion, Cissy, and Limited Edition Collections. Limited Edtion of 125.
