Will the famous archer live to tell the tale, or will the Sheriff finally close
the story? It's up to you now, with an archer vs soldier battle unfolding in front
of your eyes!
Robin Hood and his Merry Men plus the Sheriff of Nottingham and his knights
are sure to equal a very woody battle in this theme chess set! While there are
a huge number of stories about Robin Hood, one thing is well-known--he tried
to protect the poor, and generally did so by lightening the pockets of the rich.
In this set, you have Robin Hood, Maid Marian, Little John, a few less than
a score of Merry Men, and their woodland retreat opposing the Sheriff of Nottingham,
a few less than a score of his guards, several knights, and the Sheriff's own
retreats, the two rook castles!
With Robin as king and Marian as queen, there should be no problem for his
men to handle the fight, unless of course they can't use the cover of their
beloved woods(rooks). Either way, the Sheriff is sure to have his hands full;
a well coordinated attack is a must against the archers of Robin!
Robin's army has a very green theme to it--which certainly matches the woods
and history; the Sheriff has the colors of the affluent, reds and blues.
This Robin Hood II theme chess set has some slight differences to the Robin
Hood theme chess set. For starters, Little John now joins the ranks of Robin's
army instead of Friar Tuck, adding a most formidable adversary to Robin's Merry
Men. Also, the tree homes of Robin now take the form of actual tree houses,
and the Sheriff's castle has grown as well.
