Cape Hatteras, Massachusetts Bay, each lighthouse comes to you in elegant detail
in this theme chess set, and all await the handshake to start something they

game that nearly has the smell of the ocean and the look of the sea all at the

Lighthouses have been famous throughout history, and the most famous example
is the Pharos of Alexandria, Egypt. Started by Alexander the Great, Ptolomy
Soter, the new ruler of Egypt after Alexander's untimely death, continued the
building. The lighthouse was finished close to 270 B.C. When it was completed,
the lighthouse was close to 500 feet in height, and reports estimated the light
to be seen from 100 miles! Finally succumbing to earthquakes, the lighthouse
of Pharos remains the greatest lighthouse of all time.
